![]() ![]() - Top 10 things to do in North Myrtle Beach.- 12 of the Best Things to do in North Myrtle Beach. Also, does anyone know if there are any riding tours of Charleston, other than driving there and walking to the horse drawn carriage tours? I'm thinking maybe a guided day trip by shuttle bus from MB that wouldn't involve a lot of walking when we get to Charleston.Īll suggestions are welcome! Oh, and they don't love Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing, mainly because of the walking. There is a wildlife viewing boat ride I saw advertised somewhere when we were down there last year and I tried to get tickets but they were sold out. He will go and participate and only months later will he comment that he thought that something was overpriced or overhyped, but I don't really worry about that because he is nice about it and he doesn't complain at the time, it's just that I have learned from this that any kind of formal gardens are out, and he hasn't been real impressed with the boat rides we've done. MIL is very easy to please, FIL not so much. Hubby and I have talked about renting a separate car (we will be driving down in his dad's car, he insists) and going and doing things on our own, and I really don't think they will mind, but I also want to think of some things that we can do together too, if possible. ![]() Our condo overlooks a residential neighborhood as well as the beach, so they enjoy watching the neighbors come and go, and also the people in the hot tub and swimming pool below our balcony, lol. ![]() Thanks, you are both very kind, but we are very close to them and they have done a lot for us too over the years, so I want to try to take them down once a year until they just can't go anymore. I just can't think of a good solution where we can do things together instead of spending the week leaving them at the condo while we go do things.Ĭan anyone relate and/or suggest things to do? I would really appreciate it! We are coming back with them in a couple of weeks and I am just tapped out on ideas of things that we can do with them that don't involve a lot of walking. Even walking the length of the Boardwalk one day seemed to be a lot for him. ![]() Last year we took them on a riverboat ride out of Barefoot Landing, a boat ride to a barrier island near Georgetown, and a tram ride around historic Georgetown because my father-in-law is getting to where he can't walk very long distances so we tried to think of things that don't involve much walking. In the past, we have taken them to a couple of the shows, Brookgreen Gardens, Myrtle Beach State Park, and a day trip to Charleston/Patriots Point. The past 3-4 years we have been bringing my husband's parents with us who are in their early 80s. We have been to Myrtle Beach many times, as we own a condo there that we use a couple of times a year. ![]()
